Significance of TRAINING

The biggest issue for any banking organization is the training and development of its human resources and private managers, where the main engine of the resources of these organizations is the human aspect.

The constant challenge posed by the rapidly changing business environment in the banking sector makes it imperative to continuously enhance and improve the knowledge and skillsets of the manpower across the organization through training programs.

In the present-day scenario, India is mainly dominated by engineering and medical colleges, where the vast banking industry finds it difficult to locate the institutions that produce the only pool of talents having the right skills for the banking sector.

Nowadays, many private and public banks are mushrooming with providing the best of banking under one roof which turned to the bank into an unconventional sector.

Especially when we talk about the nature of the work of the banking organization and the quality of the skills and abilities of knowledge required to match it, training is considered to be a useful tool. It also has an effective impact on the productivity of the human element through proper administrative efforts.

This created the need for the banking industry to find the talent in the small town and rural India, rather than looking for it in the top cities. This pool of talent needs only polishing and training programs to match the required competency for the banking sector.

The training programs typically teach banking procedures like:

  • Daily settlement procedures

    • Transaction procedures

  • Counterfeit currency recognition

    • Account-balancing tasks

  • Cheque-handling skills

These training programs help in placing low-income young graduates and those with barriers to employment in entry-level jobs in the banking industry.

The growth of banking sector in India is the result of skilled manpower which is the outcome of training and development programs.

The bankers also welcome such training programs where they could support their communities and have access to competent and job-ready candidates.

Therefore, such a training program meant to give a leg up to people having a tough time finding a job that leads to a career is slated to expand in the coming years.
